Thiruvananthapuram, Sunday, May 22, 2011: Saleem Kumar once again made headlines winning the best actor award in the state level, adding to the glory of being crowned as the best actor in the national level. Salim Kumar was named the best actor by the Kerala Government for his sterling performance in ‘Adaminte Makan Abu’ (Abu, son of Adam).
‘Adaminte Makan Abu’ was ad-judged as the best film also, being a replica of the national award proclamation.
“I am glad my role has been recognised by the state jury as well. This will give me inspiration and strength to essay many good roles in my career ahead,” Kumar told the reporters.
Kavya Madhavan bagged the best actress award for her role in ‘Gaddama’. Shyamaprasad was adjudged the best director for his work ‘Electra’, an adaptation of the famous trilogy of American playwright Eugene O’Neill’s ‘Mourning becomes Electra’.
The awards were announced at a press meet by minister K B Ganesh Kumar (who is expected to get the film portfolio) in the presence of the jury members.
